You can use it for personal use and for work projects as well. Inviting people to work with you in Trello is very easy, just like the online collaboration.
But the best part of Trello is the overview it gives you in your projects, with the ability to set up different boards with separate tasks or goals within a project. You can easily move these boards to a certain place in you process.
