Not really innovative, but with all the features you expect

Easy to implement

Our view

Cake HR is a user friendly HR system, targeted at smaller and mid-sized organisations. Pleasant user-interface, and also easy to use across different devices (laptop, mobile).

Kronos

Kronos is an all round HR management system, for companies of all sizes. The system has a lot of functionality, that can be configured to the needs of an organisation. It seems especially suitable for mid-size to larger organisations, who have the ability and the capacity to implement and tailor an HR system.

Hyphen
Look and Feel?

Up to standard

Innovative?

Not particularly innovative, but solid and certainly modern

Easy to implement?

Implementing and configuring the system will take considerable time and effort

Our view

Kronos is seen as a very good HR system, that can stand up to many systems in the market. Highly configurable, but this seems to come with somewhat lower usability, especially for administrators. Seems a good choice for larger organisations, with professional HR/IT staff.

Namely

A rich HCM system, with a lot of functionality. Easily configurable. Probably better suited for larger organisations.

Hyphen
Look and Feel?

A clean and easy user interface

Innovative?

Difficult to judge, certainly a modern system

Easy to implement?

Not so easy, especially if you want to configure the system to your specific needs

Our view

Namely seems to be a modern, flexible system. Our understanding is, that if you are looking for a system that can be configured to you needs, not only the functionality, but also the look, than Namely is a good choice. Not for organisations that want an easy implementation.

Officient is a simple HR platform for HR administration of small and mid-sized organisations. People data from different sources (for example from the pay roll system) can be captured in Officient.

Modern look and feel.

Innovative?

Not really

Easy to implement?

Simple, but not plug-and-play.

Our view

Nice and simple HR platform, that can easily be used by smaller organisations, who want to have their people data in one place, and who want to facilitate elementary HR processes. Early days, today mainly Belgian clients. Certainly worthwhile to consider.

Broad and flexible HR software, targeted at mid-sized organisations. Also suitable for multinational companies. Somewhere in between the systems for really big organisations and for smaller organisations.

Modern and up-to-date look and feel

It will take considerable time to implement Sage People.

Our view

Sage seems to be a powerful system, with many possibilities. It also has more advanced modules, as people analytics. Seems to be suitable for larger organisations, who need a more extensive system, and have the capacity to tailor and implement a more advanced system.

Very modern and clean look and feel

Innovative?

Difficult to judge. Certainly flexible.

Easy to implement?

Serious effort required

Our view

Zenefits is targeted at mid-sized US organisations. Looks like a modern and easy to use platform. Implementation will certainly cost time and effort.

Crunchr

Crunchr

Crunchr ("People Analytics made easy”) is an online solution for workforce reporting and people analytics. The tool is targeted to be used by a broad group of HR professionals

Hyphen
Look and Feel?

Great! An example for others, and very user friendly.

Innovative?

Certainly some conceptual and technical innovations

Easy to implement?

Some effort required

Our view

Crunchr is a modern en user-friendly HR reporting and people analytics tool. Crunchr is developed with the HR user in mind. Assumptions are made about the most relevant needs in organisations. Therefore is is easy to use, but under the hood there is a sophisticated machine. Crunchr is very well suited for repetitive analysis. HR analytics professionals will probably want a tool that can deal with more specific questions.

Excel

Look and Feel?

OK, but not great

Innovative?

Very solid, and lots of innovations under the hood

Easy to implement?

In a sense, Excel can be used out of the box

Our view

Excel is one of the great tools available, and in our view every HR professional should have some basic Excel skills. especially for one-off analysis Excel is probably the best tool available, that can be used both by inexperienced and experienced users. One you want more regular/ repetitive reporting and analysis, it quickly becomes too complicated for the average HR professional.

Tableau

Tableau (“Help people see and understand data") is a dedicated data analysis solution, that can be used to analyse and visualise any kind of data. It allows you to design interactive visualisations and dashboards.

Hyphen
Look and Feel?

Certainly meets expectations

Innovative?

Some conceptual and/or technical innovations

Easy to implement?

Will take considerable time and effort

Our view

Tableau has many capabilities, probably many more than on the wishlist of the HR super user. Tableau is certainly not the solution for smaller organisations, who are making their first steps in people analytics. You will need dedicated resources to implement Tableau, and to respond to specific requests of users. If you have the capacity, of if your marketing team is using Tableau, it might be a very good choice.

Qlik

Qlik (“Simple to use. More power than you can imagine”) is a data analytics and visualisation tool, for all parts of the business, not only HR.

Hyphen
Look and Feel?

Certainly meets expectations

Innovative?

Some conceptual and/or technical innovations

Easy to implement?

Will take considerable time and effort

Our view

Qlik is a nice business intelligence tool, for relatively advanced users. It is not specifically targeted at the Hr Analytics market, but certainly useful in this domain. The dashboards certainly seem to be a strong feature for Qlik.
Good solution for larger organisations, with one or more people with the appetite and skills to learn how to get the most out of the solution.
